I am an applied economist with particular interest in the fields of labor, public and health economics.

I am a Machine Learning Economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. My primary field is Econometrics.

I mainly work on dimensionality reduction and factor models. I also work on causal inference in panel data models, and have lately been interested in discrimination and algorithmic fairness.

Gustavo is an Associate Professor in Economics at UEA since Aug/2019. He holds a PhD in Economics from Queen Mary, University of London (2013). Gustavo's research areas are econometrics (econometric theory, financial econometrics, time series analysis, forecasting, Big Data, and high-frequency econometrics) and financial economics (empirical market microstructure).
