My name is Ernesto Villanueva, and I am an economist at the DG Economics, Statistics and Research at Banco de España (BdE), the Central Bank of Spain. Since November 2018, I am the Head of the Microeconomic Studies Division. My research mainly focuses on the determinants of household saving and borrowing, different forms of human capital and on the study of wage differentials. I also work on the implementation of large surveys on household finances (EFF) and on financial competences (ECF).
