University of Missouri - St. LouisMax Gillman is F. A. Hayek Professor of Economic History at the University of Missouri – St. Louis. His research is on monetary economics, macroeconomics, public finance, asset pricing, and development. Current research includes the optimal avoidance of both the implicit inflation tax and explicit fiscal taxes for consideration in forming monetary and fiscal policy, with a view towards rules-based policy. This includes focus on how competitive asset markets determine real interest rates.
