Boris Hofmann joined the BIS in February 2011. Before taking up his current assignment as Research Adviser in 2018, he was Senior/Principal Economist in the BIS's Monetary Policy Unit. Prior to joining the BIS, he was Senior/Principal Economist in the ECB's Monetary Policy Strategy Division (2006-11), Economist in the Economics Department of the Deutsche Bundesbank (2003-06) and Research Officer at the Centre for European Integration Studies of the University of Bonn (1999-2003). I am the Unit Head of the Microeconomic Analysis Unit, within the Structural Analysis and Microeconomic Studies Department, at the DG Economics, Statistics and Research of the Banco de España. I obtained my Ph.D. in November 2007 at CEMFI and University of Santiago de Compostela. I am also an IZA Research Fellow. My research interests include earnings dynamics and wage inequality, labour supply and labour mobility, gender economics, and financial competences.

Dr. Huang is an Assistant Professor at the City University of Hong Kong and a Research Associate at the Centre for Economic Performance. He got his Ph.D. in Economics from the London School of Economics in 2018. During 2018-2019, He was a postdoctoral research associate at the UCL Department of Economics. His main research interests are international trade, economic development, industrial organization, and economic history.
