Max Gillman

Max Gillman is F. A. Hayek Professor of Economic History at the University of Missouri – St. Louis. His research is on monetary economics, macroeconomics, public finance, asset pricing, and development. Current research includes the optimal avoidance of both the implicit inflation tax and explicit fiscal taxes for consideration in forming monetary and fiscal policy, with a view towards rules-based policy. This includes focus on how competitive asset markets determine real interest rates.

I am a Post-Doc Research Associate at the Economics Department of the University of Technology Sydney.

From October 2021, I will join the Institute of Criminology of University of Cambridge as a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow.

My research lies in the broad intersection between Social and Economic Networks, with a focus on market formation, social dynamics on networks and systemic resilience.

I am a third-year PhD Candidate at the Paris School of Economics (PSE) and the Cired, under the direction of Denis Cogneau (PSE, EHESS, IRD-DIAL) and Philippe Quirion (CNRS, Cired). I study the consequences of climate change, rainfall variability and environmental degradation on migration, adaptation strategies, agricultural productivity and health in Africa.

Penny Goldberg

Penny Goldberg is the Elihu Professor of Economics at Yale University. Goldberg is President of the Econometric Society in 2021 and has previously served as Vice-President of the American Economic Association. From November 2018 to March 2020, she was the Chief Economist of the World Bank Group. She is an applied microeconomist drawn to policy-relevant questions in trade and development.
