He received his Ph.D. in Finance from the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne and the Swiss Finance Institute. Before joining the University of Bern, he was visiting researcher at Duke University and faculty member at HEC Paris and the University of Geneva. His research has been published in leading finance journals such as the Journal of Finance and the Journal of Financial Economics.
